Tournaments

Doubtless Bay Sportfishig Club organises two tournaments each year.

Taipa Tavern Marlin Classic: The next tournament is scheduled for Friday 15th - Saturday 16th March 2024.

This is one of the main events for our club each year and is great local competition with some great prizes to be won. Sponsored by many local and New Zealand wide companies, in association with Taipa Tavern.

Last date for early bird entries is Thursday 29 February 2024. Last time and date for purchase of tickets is 10am on 15 March 2024.

Entry Fee for the 2024 tournament is $70 per angler. Entrants must be a Doubtless Bay Sportfishing Club member or belong to an NZSFC affiliated club. Tickets available from: Taipa Tackle, phone: 027 486 1019 orTaipa Tavern, phone: 09 406 0757.

Another great local competition for our ladies.

NZSFC Nationals: Last tournament, 20 - 27 February 2021.

Our annual nationwide fishing competition. The Nationals competition runs for 7 days and is a great chance for you and your team to get out there and have some fun and spend a whole week fishing! There are a range of species included from inshore to offshore and some great prizes up for grabs. This is a great opportunity to mix up your line classes and target species that you may not have before. As with any competition there are a large set of rules and the full set can be found on the NZSFC website.
