About Doubtless Bay Sportfishing Club
The Club was established in 1994 by a number of enthusiastic locals with assistance and guidance from the Whangaroa Sport Fishing Club who generously provided the first Weigh Station at Mangonui. The early days of the club saw a number of both privately-owned launches and charter boats based in Mangonui. However over the years these have declined and now the fishing is done predominately from trailer boats that have the luxury of launching from a variety of locations around the bay.
With support from Kieron Olsen of Reel Rods Bait & Tackle, a new Weigh Station was established for the use of Doubtless Bay Sportfishing Club members. Another valued supporter of the club, Taipa Tavern, has kindly offered us the use of their premises to display all of our trophies. If you want to take a look at them, head over to the Taipa Tavern.
The Club runs two fishing contests during the year, has a total of three weigh stations in the area, plus affiliation to the New Zealand Sport Fishing Council.
The Club is actively seeking Sponsors for our Competitions and Tournaments. If you are able to assist with this, or have contacts with people and companies that may be willing to help, please contact the Club as we have options available to suit all manner of sponsorship.
Annual General Meeting 2021
The AGM / Prizegiving will be held on Tuesday, 9th October 2021 at 3..00 pm onwards. [Postponed from 18th September due to Covid-19 restrictions.] Venue: Oruru Bowling Club at 627 Oruru Road, Taipa.

Are you keen to become a registered member of a fishing club recognised by the New Zealand Sport Fishing Council? Then join us!
Annual membership fees for our club are just $50.00 for adults. This includes a $9.00 NZSC Levy and NZ Marine Research Foundation donation. Family membership (2 Adults, 2 Juniors) is $100.00. Junior membership (under 18 years) is $20.00. One day adult membership is $25.00.
Membership is from 1st December to 30th November of each year. What are you waiting for? Have your record fish verified by a nationally recognised game fishing club.
